un club Rotary accueillant branché sur de multiples activités bien enraciné

After our visit to Heidelberg in October 1999 which was still in good memory of many Forêtiens and Heidelbergiens, the RC Heidelberg Alte Brücke arrived in Brussels for a return visit on the evening of the 8 th of October 2000.

23 Forêtiens were on hand at the reception at which we greeted 9 Heidelbergiens and their spouses (Peter Vogt, Uwe Ikinger, Hans Werner Lindgens, Karl-Theodor Risch, Uwe Sacksofsky, Michael Schallies, Klaus Siebler, Malte Volz and Volker Wrede).

Actually the start of the visit on Friday evening worked very well as it gave many Forêtiens the possibility to drop by at the cocktail after work and it allowed the hosts (three couples had opted to stay at private houses) and their guests to get to know each other already before the real program started on Saturday.

The messages of welcome and thanks including the presentation of a beautiful view of Heidelberg concluded the evening.

Not only the Heidelbergiens but also some Forêtiens were very impressed by the excellent two hour tour of Brussels which we experienced under the able guidance of André Renaud.

After a brief snack in the Inno and a subway ride to Heysel we were ready for 'Je n'aime pas la culture'. Particularly the feedback from the Heidelbergiens to this very instructive and well made exhibition was very positive.

The 'ambience' at the excellent goodbye dinner at the "L'Ecailler de Saint Jean" was even better than the day before. Many good and intensive discussions entertained all the friends present and the evening had passed before anybody had noticed. And before we left late in the evening, Peter Vogt, the president of Heidelberg Alte Brücke, invited the Forêtiens to join the Heidelbergiens when they visit Berlin between May 13th and 15th, 2001.
